When the spotlight is on you, why not show the crowd what you got? That’s essentially the story of Shannon Sailes -- or as me more affectionately know -- The Dancing Usher.

The spotlight was scanning the crowd and it landed on Sailes, so he just started dancing. As it turns out, that was a career-making move. He's now been entertaining Detroit Pistons fans at The Palace for years. Sailes has even been featured on shows like The Today Show and Jimmy Kimmel.

He says he doesn't know what the song will be ahead of time, so what the fans see at basketball games in pure improvisation.

Sailes does more than just dance during timeouts. helps choreograph other pistons entertainment and he's hoping to start teaching a ballroom class at the Pistons Performing Arts facility in the near future.
