Elijah Minnie and James Thompson IV combined to score 39 points and Eastern Michigan completed a sweep of its four-game home stand to start the season, turning away winless Howard 76-66 on Saturday.
Minnie hit 5 of 11 from the field and 9 of 10 from the free throw line to put up 21 points. Thompson finished with 18 points and 14 rebounds to notch his fourth double-double of the season. Paul Jackson finished with 16 points and dished out six assists.
Howard now has lost four straight on a grueling road trip that saw the Bison lose at George Washington, Indiana and Gonzaga before stopping at Eastern Michigan. The trip continues with games at Arkansas State, South Florida and Liberty. Howard's first home game is against Central Pennsylvania November 30.
Eastern Michigan plays at Indiana Friday in Bloomington before travelling to Tampa Sunday to face South Florida.
