What makes a city a best, or worst location for basketball fans? Is it locations to watch the sport, or how much local support there is?
Well, to answer this, Wallethub.com crunched the numbers on 291 cities throughout the United States using seven key metrics. The metrics range from number of teams per city, the winning percentage and social media engagement.
It may not be a surprise to some, but East Lansing, home to Michigan State University, made the cut ranked at No. 6. East Lansing has some of the most engaged college basketball fans.
The hometown of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, ranked at 17, while the next Michigan city to make the list was Ypsilanti, coming in at 64.
The best city for college basketball fans? According to Wallethub, it is Chapel Hill, NC. The worst is New Britain, CT.
