The Detroit Red Wings unveiled their jerseys for the 2017 Centennial Classic on New Year's Day against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The white jerseys feature a silver line on the sleeves and silver trim in the logo. The Maple Leafs have not yet released their jerseys.
It pays respect to the NHL's 100th anniversary season which is why silver is prominent throughout the jersey. The silver stripe on both sleeves honor the 11 Stanley Cup Championships the Red Wings have won in franchise history.
Each individual season is listed in the silver stripes with the first five on the right sleeve and the other six on the left sleeve.
According to the team, the four red stripes honor the original Detroit Cougars, and the pants will feature a version of the letter "D," similar to the design worn by the Cougars.
Jerseys will be available for purchase at Hockeytown Authentics in Troy beginning at 11 a.m. Tuesday. They'll go on sale at Joe Louis Arena starting with the game against Montreal on Saturday. They are $215 each and will include a player name and number.
