Quin signed with the Lions in March 2013 to a five-year contract. He never missed a start with the Lions, playing in all 96 possible games. He was originally drafted in the fourth round of the 2009 NFL Draft by the Houston Texans.
"We thank Glover for his countless contributions to the Detroit Lions during his six seasons with our team," Lions' general manager Bob Quinn said in a statement. "Since joining the organization in 2013, Glover exemplified everything it means to be a true professional in this league – as both a competitor on the field and a leading voice in the community. Coach Patricia and I have the utmost respect for him as a man and player, and we wish him nothing but the very best in the future.”
The Lions drafted Tracy Walker in the third round of last year's NFL Draft. He is expected to take over for Quin moving forward.
Ellington only played four games with the Lions after signing in early November. With the Lions, he had 23 catches for 132 yards. He went on Injured Reserve (hamstring) in late December.
Grigsby originally signed to the Lions' practice squad Nov. 17, but was promoted to the 53-man roster on Nov. 26. He played in three games for the Lions.
