Following its 17-7 win over Maryland last week, Michigan State moved up one spot to No. 16 in this week’s College Football Playoff rankings, the CFP committee announced Tuesday night.
The Spartans (8-3, 6-2 Big Ten) have been ranked in all four CFP rankings this fall.
Since the CFP first started in 2014, Michigan State has appeared in the rankings 17 times, third most in the Big Ten and tied for ninth most in the FBS.
MSU closes out the regular season at 4 p.m. Nov. 25, in Piscataway, New Jersey. The game will be televised on FOX.
