EAST LANSING, Mich. (WXYZ) -- Michigan State linebacker Joe Bachie was voted the Spartans' 2017 most valuable player by his teammates at Sunday's football award banquet.
Bachie recorded 94 total tackles (42 solo) and 3.5 sacks, as well as three interceptions this season, helping the Spartans to a 9-3 record and a spot in the Holiday Bowl.
Bachie is the first sophomore to be named team MVP since Drew Stanton in 2004.
