Speight was sacked late in the first quarter of the game against Purdue on Saturday and never returned.

Harbaugh told the media on Monday he thought the hit was egregious and should have been a personal foul for targeting. He said he plans to contact the Big Ten.

It appeared that Speight took a knee to the head from a linebacker after being sacked, and he was on the ground for several minutes before getting up and walking to the locker room.

John O'Korn replaced Speight in the next series. O'Korn was 18-26 for 270 yards with a touchdown and interception during the game.

The Wolverines are on their bye week this week before taking on Michigan State at home on Oct. 7. That game is the first time the two teams will meet at night at 7:30 p.m. and will air on Channel 7.
