Former MSU Quarterback Drew Stanton In East Lansing June 21

June 19, 2019, Lansing, MI– On Friday, June 21, Drew Stanton will host the Drew Stanton Charity Golf Outing & Afterglow benefiting area charities. The celebrity charity event will make its move to Michigan States’ Forest Akers West golf course (3535 Forest Road, Lansing, MI 48910) for the first time. The event will begin at 10:00 AM (registration opens at 9:00 AM) and be followed by a live auction and afterglow (4:00-6:00 PM).

The annual golf outing, a four-person scramble event will be attended by many sports celebrities and led by former MSU and current Cleveland Browns quarterback Drew Stanton. Nearly 40 sports celebrities will be in attendance including former Detroit Lions’ legend Jason Hanson and former Detroit Tigers all-star Brandon Inge, many current Spartans including head coach Mark Dantonio and quarterback Brian Lewerke, and a host of former MSU basketball and football standouts.

Also new for the event in 2019, High 5ive has launched an online auction. The auction features many unique sports items and experiences including a Stanton game jersey, a signed Odell Beckham Jr. jersey, MSU vs Penn State football tickets, a Treetops golf package, and more. A live auction featuring Super Bowl tickets and a Pebble Beach golf package will also take place following the event. Proceeds go to benefit High 5ive.

This is the 11th year Stanton has hosted this event and the 10th year that it has taken place in Lansing. Drew is very proud to have the opportunity to continue to support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals/Sparrow Children’s Center and Special Olympics of Michigan. Since Drew began the golf outing, High 5ive Foundation has donated more than $150,000 to Sparrow Children’s Center.

In 2018, High 5ive announced a new project with Sparrow by pledging $100,000 for the renovation of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Parent Lounge, to improve the experience for patient families. The Sparrow PICU provides major medical, surgical and trauma care for children up to the age of 18 throughout the mid-Michigan region.
