The undefeated Michigan Wolverines are ranked No. 1in the new NET rankings from the NCAA, moving up from No. 2 a week ago.

The NET rankings were developed to replace the RPI this season as the primary sorting tool for evaluating teams during the season. It relies on game results, strength of schedule, game location, scoring margin, net offensive and defensive efficiency and the quality of wins and losses.

Michigan is 10-0 this season with six wins at home, two on the road and two at neutral sites. They beat South Carolina 89-78 on Saturday afternoon and have the week off before playing Western Michigan next Saturday at Crisler Arena.

Duke is at No. 2 in the rankings, followed by Virginia, Gonzaga and Texas Tech. Michigan State is ranked at No. 9.

Michigan stayed at No. 5 the AP poll and Michigan State was at No. 9.
