Rivalries can run deep.
Deep enough to say something extremely powerful that may rub some people the wrong way.
After a 49-10 loss to Western Michigan this weekend, CMU head coach John Bonamego had one of those moments.
"You can quote me on this. I would rather go through eight weeks of chemotherapy radiation again than lose to lose to that team the way we did. That's the truth, that's how I feel," Bonamego said.
It was the worst loss to the Broncos by the Chippewas since 1970.
CMU is now 3-2 while Western Michigan came in as the 25th ranked team in the AP poll this week.
