A Caledonia High School student has come back from a hand injury to lead her bowling team to the upcoming state finals.

WOOD-TV reports that senior bowler Brittney Schnicke helped her team win conference and regional titles this season.

In March 2015, Schnicke severed her bowling hand's ring and middle fingers during wood shop class. The fingertips she lost were the ones she used to control the roll and spin on the ball.

The accident occurred a week after Schnicke led her team to the state finals as a sophomore. She had also finished eighth overall individually in the state in Division 1.

Schnicke had two surgeries, began practicing almost every day and had a ball drilled with a special grip. She returned to the team her junior year.
