Beecher's Malik Ellison has been named The Associated Press Class C boys Player of the Year in Michigan.
The 5-foot-8, 155-pound senior point guard averaged 26.2 points, 5.3 assists, 4.2 steals and 3.5 rebounds this season.
Kylen Brown of Michigan Center, Nick Welch of Monroe St. Mary's Catholic Central, Jamal Cain of Detroit Cornerstone, Victor McEwen of Burton Atherton, Carson Wonders of Iron Mountain, Dre Tuominen of Negaunee, Craig Sterk of McBain), Jack Staley of Breckenridge and Gary Solomon of Detroit Edison PSA join Ellison on the AP Class C All-State First Team.
The 2016-17 team is selected by a panel of Michigan sportswriters and broadcasters.
Michigan Center's Travis Gaddy was voted Coach of the Year.
