The Michigan Wolverines are ranked at No. 3 and the Western Michigan Broncos are ranked at No. 23 in the first College Football Playoff rankings released Tuesday.
Those rankings mean Michigan (8-0) would make the College Football Playoff if the season ended today. Western Michigan (8-0) would also be in the running for a New Year's Six bowl game.
Michigan would take on No. 2 Clemson in either the Peach Bowl or Fiesta Bowl on Dec. 31.
