LANSING, Mich. — An advocacy group has given Michigan an "F" for policies aimed at keeping lead out of drinking water at schools.
The report from the Environment Michigan Research and Policy Center says federal requirements to keep lead out are "weak" to "non-existent."
Governor Whitmer's office released a statement saying she is focused on cleaning up the state's drinking water.
Hundreds of millions in her proposed budget are for water infrastructure alone.
