Santa delivers cheer in CATA bus

Posted

Santa has managed to fit some local bus trips into his busy schedule before Christmas as CATA continues its popular Santa Free Rides program.

“Each year we hear from numerous people who look forward to riding with us,” explained Sandy Draggoo, CATA CEO/Executive Director. “For many families,

taking a free ride on a CATA bus when Santa is at the wheel is an annual tradition. We are delighted they choose CATA to be part of their holiday festivities.

Santa helped out on our MSU campus routes last week, and he was a huge hit. Students often tell us how a simple ride with the jolly fellow helps ease their

end-of-semester stress.  To ensure that everyone can take part, we offer free rides with Santa across many of our services.”

Throughout the area, old St. Nick inspires countless smiles and waves from pedestrians and occupants in passing vehicles who spot him traversing greater Lansing in a CATA bus.

Santa Free Rides take place between Thursday, Dec. 17 and Wednesday, Dec. 23.  Over the seven-day period, look for Santa on various fixed-route buses,

the Entertainment Express trolley, Spec-Tran buses, as well as Delhi, Delta and Meridian Redi-Ride vehicles.
