Love Lansing Party for Lansing schools

Posted

Sunday, March 6, 2016? JiveOne5even, a local art and design company and The Green Door Bar & Grill are proud to host the second annual charitable ?Love Lansing Party? with proceeds going to the Lansing Public Schools Elementary Art Programs. The funds will be used to purchase art materials for students, scholarships to send students to classes at REACH and MSU Smart as well as provide them exposure to local artists.

Without Public Schools exposing young people to the arts, JiveOne5even and other creative forces in Lansing might not exist. We recognize this, and with the help of local musicians, artists, volunteers, and local businesses, we pledge to do our part to make sure art in Lansing sticks around. Last year, we were able to raise $3,600 with our event and these funds helped the art specialists to purchase supplies for their classrooms as well as sponsor some students to take additional art classes through REACH and MSU Smart.

Doors will be opening at 1:00pm. A $10 admittance donation will be requested upon entry and the live entertainment will begin at 2:00pm. A comedy show will top off the evening beginning at 8:30pm. The days events will include raffles and a silent auction featuring art from local artists. There will be a live auction at 5:30pm of the pieces created the day of the event to provide attendees the opportunity to generate proceeds for the cause. Donations are being accepted for raffle and auction items as well as monetary donations and if you would like to contribute, please feel free to contact JiveOne5even to arrange a drop-off or pick-up time.

Entertainment for the day will include a fusion of local visual artists creating live art while a variety of musicians provide the soundtrack for the day. The performers will be offering a wide variety of sounds from rock and roll to hip-hop and everything in between.

Please join us for a day of fun and entertainment and show your Love Lansing spirit and help keep art available in our schools.
