Brett and Lilly Hayworth - a father and daughter from Jackson, Michigan - are beginning production of their first film "Remember When," on April 19 with Spot On Productions. The two have been traveling back and forth from Hollywood to pursue their dreams in the film industry.
Brett Hayworth is a single father of 10-year-old Lilly. Since she was 4 months-old, Brett took on parenting skills that surpass the norm. While owning his window business in Jackson, Hayworth wanted to teach his daughter to follow her dreams and ignore limitations.
"I said to myself, one day I have to teach my daughter how to live forward not how to sit back and just take life as it comes," he said, "I had to show that little girl that anything is possible."
Since then, Brett has left his window business and pursued filmmaking and writing with his daughter. The two have released their first episode of "Just Brett and Lilly," a sitcom portraying the everyday life of a father raising a young daughter.
The sitcom is a Christian-based comedy inspired by true events, available to watch on BrettHayworth.comand Youtube. Brett and Lilly play themselves as characters and try to encourage people to find humor in everyday struggles. Hayworth said "Remember When" will have a more serious tone.
Hayworth said his goal, other than inspiring his daughter, is to encourage single parents – especially fathers.
"I don’t think there are too many messages going out to only-parents that are men," Hayworth said.
Brett is releasing his first book, 'Backwards,' during the week of May 25, 2016 - May 31, 2015 and will be available online and in bookstores. The Hayworth's also travel to churches, jails, schools, and colleges as guest speakers.
"The underlying message is, I was an only-parent, dad, raising a little girl and if people can't see the humor in a man raising a little girl alone then they need to watch 'Just Brett and Lilly," Hayworth said.
