With heavy rains hitting Michigan and the Upper Peninsula over the last few days, water is rushing over Tahquamenon Falls at a steady pace.
According to the state park, water was flowing at 10,000 gallons per second over the upper falls, which is more than three times the normal rate of 3,000 gallons per second.
The upper falls drops nearly 50 feet and is more than 200 feet across. According to the Department of Natural Resources, a maximum flow of more than 50,000 gallons per second has been recorded over the falls.
