The owners of a Westland bicycle shop hope you can help catch the thieves who stole thousands of dollars of bikes from them.
The burglary happened at D & D Bicycles and Hockey on Middlebelt around 3:30 a.m. Monday. Surveillance video shows three men getting out of a white pick up truck and breaking into the shop.
7 Action News is being told they used a bolt cutter to cut the lock on the door and then a pry bar to break inside the building through the door.
They then walked the bikes out the front door. Four of five bikes, worth between $500 to $700 each were taken. Owners estimate they lost between $2,500 and $3,000 worth of merchandise.
Police were on the scene quickly, but owners say the thieves were long gone. They estimate the theft took only 2 or 3 minutes.
They say this is not the first time they've been hit and that stolen bikes are usually tracked down through their serial numbers.
If you have any information, you're asked to call Westland police.
