Roseville police are asking for your help identifying a suspect who allegedly pepper-sprayed a clerk at a tobacco shop before stealing money and a cell phone earlier this month.
According to police, the suspect walked into BDT Pipe Tobacco on Gratiot around 11:50 a.m. on May 5 and walked around the store for 15 minutes. It is believed he was also in the store earlier in the day buying something.
Police say the suspect approached the cash register, pulled out pepper spray, sprayed the employee in the face and stole money and the clerk's cell phone.
He fled the area and police were unable to find the suspect. They did find the cell phone about three blocks away from the incident.
Police say the suspect is described as a white male in his late 20s or early 30s, 5-feet-9 with a thin build. He was wearing sunglasses, a dark baseball hat, dark gloves and an orange fluorescent coat with a hood, dark jeans and red shoes.
