Detroit police are asking for your help identifying a suspect who tried to steal a woman's purse before she fought him off with a cane.
According to police, it happened on Feb. 10 just after 4 p.m. in the 8600 block of Rosa Parks.
Police say the 71-year-old woman was walking into the Family Food Super Store when a man ran up to her. He stopped to allow her to pass, and then tried to grab her purse.
She fought the suspect off with her cane, causing him to let go and then take off.
He is described as a black male, 18-25 years old with a thin build, medium brown complexion, wearing a red hat, black hooded jacket, dark jeans and dark shoes.
