Canadian autoworker union Unifor announced early Thursday morning it has reached a tentative contract with General Motors.

According to the union, the master bargaining committee reached an agreement that will be recommended for the 1,700 workers at the GM plants in St. Catharines, Oshawa and Woodstock.

It will also avert a strike that could have happened Thursday morning.

GM was the final automaker Unifor had negotiated with. Previous deals have been ratified with Ford and Fiat Chrysler.
