It's day 15 of the UAW strike at General Motors, which means workers will finally have access to strike pay.
Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson jumped on the picket line during Solidarity Sunday. She was joined by clergy and community members in front of the Warren Transmission Plant.
"Their lives are at stake," she said. "Their well-being is at stake."
Negotiations between UAW and GM are expected to continue Monday morning.
Once a tentative agreement is reached, it will be voted on by the union council of local leaders and then taken to the rank and file for ratification. That process will take several days. It is not clear if striking members would go back to work, which has been past tradition, or remain on strike until a ratification vote is complete.
