Two people have been rescued after falling 40 feet down a manhole in Detroit.

A city worker and contractor were trapped at a pumping station owned by the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department on the corner of Mack and Cadieux.

Officials say it took a lot of work to get both men out safely and the 62-year-old worker suffered minor injuries.

One or both workers slipped and fell as they worked in the manhole, officials say.
