Dearborn police say two people have been charged for walking into the police department's lobby masked and carrying guns earlier this month.
Brandon Vreeland, 40, from Jackson and James Baker, 24, from Leonard, are charged with carrying a concealed weapon, resisting arrest and disturbing the peace. Baker was also charged with brandishing a weapon.
Those guns include a Glock handgun with 66 rounds, a loaded AP-14 with 47 rounds, an AR-15 and an AK-47-type rifle.
"These guys could have been videotaping their own deaths," Lt. Gary Mann said. "I commend the offices for what they did. I think in a lot of these situations there would have been officers who would have fired at these men."
Both men were arraigned in court on Friday, and Baker was given a $50,000 bond while Vreeland was given a $20,000 bond.
"The ultimate objective is public safety for everyone, including police officers," Chief Ronald Haddad said.
