Years ago station wagons ruled the roads, filling driveways all across America from the 1950s to the 1990s. Then the SUV and minivan came and nearly killed them off. 1. They’ve Come a Long Way
Sleek, adventurous and eye-catching, today's station wagons look much better than the one you had growing up. Like other modern cars, they offer useful tech like back up cameras, lane detection warning and smartphone integration.
2. They Just Make Sense
A wagon makes sense because it offers the driving dynamics of a sedan, the better fuel economy of a sedan, with the extra utility for cargo hauling of a sport utility. It's kind of the best of both worlds. For the overall price you can pay $20,000 to $40,000 unless you go with the $110,000 Mercedes AMG Wagon which has more horsepower than some Ferraris and is faster to 60 mph than a Porsche 911.
3. Stand Out In a Crowd
Last year 63 percent of Americans bought an SUV or truck, so driving something different is a great way to stand out. You can still avoid the minivan and be the coolest dad on the block!
