Instagram says one of its goals is to create a safe environment, and part of that effort now includes several new features on the platform.
The company announced on its official blog that sensitive content will be treated a little differently moving forward.
Now, when scrolling through your home feed or a person’s profile, don’t be surprised if you see a screen. It basically looks like an overly blurred image.
Instagram says screened content doesn’t mean it violates guidelines, just that it contains something that may be off-putting or surprising. Users will still be able to see the full photo or video with a quick tap.
Moving to account security, Instagram is also rolling out two-factor authentication.
Think of it as just an extra layer of protection.
Users who turn on the feature will be required to enter a code when they log in.To enable it, just hit the gear icon in your profile to navigate to the two factor authentication button and flip it on.
