The Future Trends of Everyday Materials

Posted

The next future trend is coming with e-paper, e-ink and e-pens. The List’s Bradley Hasemeyer shows us digitizing our everyday materials into pretty much e-everything on The Futurist.

  • E-Paper – The Shiftwear L1 is a shoe that uses E-Paper to display cool designs through an app. Colors, pictures and animations can be displayed plus its machine washable and has a 30 day battery life which is recharged with every step you take.

  • E-Ink – Tech Tats is a project from Chaotic Moon Studios. Their goal is to replace your fitness and wellness tracker, like a fit bit, with something a bit more sophisticated and cool looking. The idea is you stick this temporary tattoo onto your skin, which then monitors if you’re getting sick and all the things a doctor would check for, on your yearly physical. It's just a concept at the moment, but the studio is working on getting it to market soon.

  • E-Pen – The Neo Smartpen N2 digitizes your analog writing on the fly. Pair the pen with an app and write on their special paper to instantly transform your pictures or notes into a file on your smartphone or tablet.
