Two Taylor grandparents have been charged for the overdose death of their 10-month-old great-grandson.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy brought the charges against Rebecca Ann May, 52 and Quentin Roosevelt May, 65, after their infant great-grandson Du'Wan Lenhan was found unresponsive and not breathing at their residence on Oct. 5, 2017.

The Taylor Police and Fire Department responded to the May residence in the 5800 block of Wilkie Street and discovered the infant on the floor while CPR was being administered by a neighbor, according to a release.

Medics transported the child to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. It's alleged that the great-grandparents of the child failed to store and/or maintain their medications in a safe manner, which resulted in Lanhan's death. It's also alleged that the grandparents failed to provide a safe environment for their great-grandson.

The grandparents have been charged with one count of Involuntary Manslaughter and one count of Child Abuse in the Second Degree.

They will be arraigned in 23rd District Court on Thursday, May 31 at 10:30 a.m.
