The Oakland County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a student in Pontiac was shot on Monday morning while waiting for the bus.
According to the Pontiac Academy for Excellence, the student was taken to the hospital and is currently being treated.
In a statement on their Facebook page, the Pontiac Academy for Excellence said:
"We regret to share with you that a senior from Pontiac Academy for Excellence was injured in a shooting while waiting at a neighborhood bus stop this morning. The student was taken to a local hospital and is being treated. We are in close communication with the Oakland County Sheriff's Department as they are investigating the incident. We want to assure all parents and students that safety is our number one priority. The school day will continue as planned and counseling services are available to all students. We will share more information as the situation develops."
Right now, it's not clear what condition the student was in, or if who the suspects are.
