Stroh Brewery Co. is releasing a new beer called "Perseverance" that is brewed in the style of a Detroit session IPA.

It will be sold exclusively in Michigan, and a symbolic first pour will be held at 6 p.m. on May 9 at Brew Detroit. The event is free for those 21 and older.

The IPA is a hoppy session beer with a moderate 4.5 percent ABV. It has begun shipping to independent beverage retailers throughout Michigan.

It will be on draft and in 12 oz. bottles at select pubs beginning next week.

The "Perseverance" IPA is the first product launch for the company since 2016.
