For those who have trouble walking but have always wanted to see Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore in northern Michigan, there is good news. In a Facebook post over the weekend, the national lakeshore said they now have beach wheelchairs available for free.

In the post, the lakeshore said that there is an adult and child's chair available at the Cannery at Glen Haven, and an adult chair at the Maritime Museum. Both areas do have ramps for beach access.

If someone gets a wheelchair, they will need to have a support person to wheel them around.

The wheelchairs have large, wide wheels which will roll across the sand without sinking, but they do require someone to push them.
