Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is celebrating its first 50 years in 2020.
The activities start with a kick-off celebration on Jan. 18 at the Dune Climb featuring winter activities, including building a snow sculpture, sledding down the dunes, snowball target practice and more. The event is free with a park pass.
Additionally, the National Lakeshore released its first app, which is available on the Apple Store.
Starting Dec. 20, guests can purchase a commemorative anniversary park pas for $45. These are valid for 12 months.
