Snowshoe or ski under the full moon at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.

The event, held on Feb. 8 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Dune Climb, continues the lakeshore's 50th anniversary activities.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own cross-country skis or snowshoes for the event. Park rangers and volunteers will snowshoe or ski along the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail.

Snowshoes will be loaned on a first-come, first-serve basis. There is no registration for the event, which is free with a park pass.

Luminaries and the full moon will light the trail, but attendees are encouraged to bring a flashlight or headlamp and wear layers.

The event will take place regardless of snow conditions. If there is a lack of snow, rangers will be along the trail providing information to those hiking.
