Police believe a semi-truck driver may have fallen asleep or dozed off at the wheel causing this crash on I-94 early Thursday morning.
The Jackson County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to eastbound I-94 near the 135 mile marker for a crash involving a semi around 3:55a.m.
Police say the semi left the road, drove over an embankment and overturned on its side and spilled the trailers entire load of potatoes.
The driver is a 59-year-old Ohio man. He was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
The shoulder of eastbound I-94 past the Dearing Road exit is still currently closed and one lane will have sporadic closures throughout the morning cleanup.
