Select 2019 Ford Rangers recalled due to tail lamp function

and last updated

Select 2019 Ford Ranger vehicles are being recalled due to a tail lamp function.

Ford says the inline electrical connector terminals for the tail lamps may be misaligned or not properly seated.

Misaligned or improperly seated terminals can result in intermittent or inoperative tail lamps. These can result in loss of stop, turn, rear position, and reverse lamps, which can reduce visibility and may not fully alert other drivers that the vehicle is braking, turning, or reversing, increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford says it is not aware of any accident or injury related to the condition.

In the U.S., 72,718 vehicles were affected and 5,546 were affected in Canada.

Affected vehicles were built at Michigan Assembly Plant from June 4, 2019, to Aug. 16, 2019.

The Ford reference number for the recall is 19S43.
