Royal Oak firefighters use pet oxygen masks to rescue cats from fire

The Royal Oak Fire Department rescued three cats and one person from a fire on July 5, according to a Facebook post.

Around 9:22 a.m., the fire department responded to a basement fire on the 400 block of Wellesley. It was quickly put out by arriving crews.

Three cats were recovered from the home and treated with oxygen using the fire department's pet oxygen masks.

The fire department says the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
