WalletHub, a personal finance website, released a report today announcing the best and worst states for working dads.
The report says 93 percent of dads with young kids balance being a parent and provider. Their data set ranges from average work day length to child-care costs.
The top ten best states for working dads are:
- District of Columbia
- New Jersey
- Rhode Island
- New Hampshire
Low child care costs, high median family income and long life expectancy push the above states in top spots.
These are the worst states for working dads, according to the report:
- South Carolina

Similarly, higher child care costs, longer work days and lower life expectancy earn these states the bottom spots.
