Representative Rashida Tlaib of Detroit is planning to join a protest during the North American International Auto Show Charity Preview.
The protest will be held Friday night from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. outside Cobo Center.
Tlaib will be joined by labor, environmental and community groups.
They plan to protest GM's proposed job cuts and call for the automaker to be a part of a "Green New Deal" by building low-emission and electric cars.
