Police are on the scene of a barricaded gunman situation in a Superior Township. The scene is in the area of Berkshire Drive & Prospect Road.

Police say a deputy was shot while responding to the situation. He is in stable condition after being taken to the hospital by another deputy.

Sources tell 7 Action News the deputy was shot just below the arm pit and no vital organs were hit. He's currently conscious and talking.

A spokesperson for the sheriff's department says deputies responded to a report of a neighbor dispute where a shot was fired. Officers responding to the scene were shot at and that is when the deputy was injured.

Officials say the suspect is now barricaded in a home on Lakeview. Officers have not yet made contact with the suspect, whose identity has not been released.

It is also unknown if anyone else is in the home.

The Washtenaw County Sheriff posted to their Facebook page saying people should stay inside.
