Governor Gretchen Whitmer told a crowd at Eastern Michigan University how she became a sexual assault survivor 30 years ago as a student at Michigan State and kept it quiet for many years.

The Governor says the voices of survivors need to be heard and she has a better way for that to happen.

Survivors can call a confidential hotline 855-VOICES4. Survivors can also text 866-238-1454

The Governor spoke at a forum titled Let’s End Campus Sexual Assault.

Governor Whitmer says 95% of campus sexual assaults are not reported for many reasons.
