(WSYM) - During a press conference today presidential candidate and former Vice President Joe Biden took an unusually fiery tone.
“Who the heck does he think he is?” Biden said of Trump, referring to an article recently published in the Atlantic that claims President Trump called American soldiers, including those that died in WWI, ’losers.’ Trump has denied the claims.
“I’m always cautioned not to lose my temper,” Biden said. “This is as close as I think I’ve come in this campaign. It’s just a marker of how deeply President Trump and I disagree.”
He went on to focus on the impact of COVID-19.
“Economists are calling this a ’K-shaped recovery.’ It’s a fancy term they use, but the K means that those at the top are seeing recovery while those at the bottom do not.”
Biden held one person alone responsible for the state of the pandemic, and for the current economic impact on Americans.
“Trump has mismanaged the COVID crisis, and that’s why it’s a K-shaped recovery... We all know it didn’t have to be this bad. It didn’t have to be this bad, if the president just did his job.”
“You cannot have an economic recovery when a thousand Americans a day are dying,” Biden said. “It’s almost like he doesn’t care, because it doesn’t effect him. It doesn’t effect him or his class of friends.”
“You are not safe in Donald Trump’s America,” Biden said. “He doesn’t see it, he doesn’t feel it. He just doesn’t care.”
