The Motor City is adding extra eyes to more businesses--expanding their Project Green Light program.

The program began earlier this year with eight gas stations involved.

Each business agreed to use high-definition surveillance cameras that linked directly to the Detroit Police Department.

It was all in an effort to effectively track crime in real-time. The cameras have already helped police make several arrests.

One of the first big arrests came after this woman opened fire on a vehicle at 4:30 a.m. at a gas station on Fenkell and Greenfield.

And just last week, police showed us another incident caught on a Green Light camera.

Detroit police are expected to announce additional businesses that have signed up to be apart of the program.
