Grosse Ile Police are investigating an alleged animal cruelty incident involving a local high school sports team.
According to the chief, a group of players from the Grosse Ile High School varsity lacrosse team got together before a game and killed a guinea pig.
Right now, police say it is still in an investigatory stage, and did not say how many students were involved. The incident happened on April 30.
7 Action News first reported on the story on Tuesday. The lacrosse team did have a scheduled game against Bay City Western High School in Auburn Hills on Saturday, April 30.
The district learned about the incident from police earlier this week, sources told 7 Action News.
