Police in Michigan's Upper Peninsula are cracking down on unsafe driving near school buses.

Sheriff's deputies in Marquette County will spend the week riding school buses to catch drivers who violate bus safety laws.

If a deputy spots a driver passing while kids are getting on or off the bus, the deputy will radio ahead to a patrol car to stop the driver and slap them with a three-point ticket and major fine.

Violators could pay up to $500.
