Huron Township police have arrested a 47-year-old man accused of attacking a jogger on Tuesday afternoon at Oakwood Metropark.
Police say a woman was jogging alone in the park when the man reportedly popped out of the woods, struck her in the face and knocked her to the ground.
The victim told police he told her he was going to kill her and that's when he attempted to sexually assault her. She says she was able to fight him off and run away to get help.
Police say the suspected attacker also took her cell phone.
After a short search, police say they located the suspect on a nearby bike trail still carrying the victim's phone.
The suspect is currently being held at the Huron Township Police Department jail awaiting charges.
The victim, we're told, is recovering at a nearby hospital.
