The Detroit Pistons honored the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, with a video montage tribute and moment of silence during Wednesday's home opener game.

Former Detroit Piston, Isiah Thomas, began the tribute.

"The Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, was a shinning symbol of this great city," Thomas said before holding a moment of silence. "She represented us all with dignity, style, grace and beauty."

What followed was a video montage of the Queen as lights lowered with a single spotlight on an empty microphone stand. In the background, playing on the speakers, was Franklin's soulful rendition of the national anthem.
