The company, Spin Master, posted on their website that this is not their intended use. The colorful, tactile balls are meant to help kids make endless creations. Spin Master also released a video about how to get Bunchems out of hair just in case you find your child has attempted to use them as barrettes.
The company recommends vegetable oil or conditioner to help them slide out.
