A Michigan-based company is recalling 43,292 pounds of ground beef products that may contain pieces of hard plastic.

The recall was announced Monday by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Services (FSIS). According to a release, JBS Plainwell, Inc., a Plainwell, Michigan establishment, initiated the recall.

The ground beef loaf products were produced on March 20.

According to the FSIS, the recalled products bear establishment number EST. 562M, and were shipped to retail locations in Michigan and Wisconsin.

There were two complaints of customers finding green hard plastic in the ground beef products. The FSIS was notified of the issue on April 5.

Some of the contaminated products may be frozen in consumers' freezers. Those with the products are urged to not consume the meat, and either throw it away or return to the place of purchase.
